Few, if any, human lives are without trouble and difficulty. And few human lives are without times of joy and happiness, but the one thing that can be counted on is that life itself is an ever-changing pattern of experiences and nothing remains static in either a personal or non-personal way. The only reliable continuum in your life is the deep part of you which is the observer of your daily existence. This is who you truly are, for there would be no cognizance of what each moment brings if there was no sentience to register those moments. Even asleep and in the dream state, the observer is watching the dream and is conscious of the events portrayed in it. You wake up from the dream and sometimes remember its content because it has been registered in memory.
Whether awake or asleep the watcher within is always on duty. The mind is not the watcher although memory is part of the mind and what is witness is recorded in memory. During waking hours you might be taken suddenly to a memory of the past, but this is still not the true you. The watcher within is that which observes how this memory is affecting you and what it means to you.
We do not imply that you should simply become static, emotionless and detached from your life. You came to this lifetime filled with intentions and purposes and each day is a reflection of those according to the themes of the day, the week or your whole life. Indeed you must enjoy your life for it is your gift, but it will be easier to do this if you stand back a little and allow that Presence within to see what is going on without believing it is who you are. The mind is very powerful and, untrained, will dominate your existence and block you from experiencing the sense of connection you have to all of life. Oneness is not a theory, it is a spiritual fact but while you choose to incarnate in order to experience separateness with all the opportunities that brings, the essential part of you will always be part of the Whole.
Physical life is transient and fleeting and ends with death. Awareness cannot cease to be for it is eternal and upon leaving the human vehicle behind it is always there, registering what is going on and what you are experiencing. You will never cease to be you, the only difference being that without the body you experience yourself more keenly.
You live in a very narrow band of frequency where you have been trained to believe that only the reality of the five senses matters. The egoic personality is automatically geared to dealing with the input from the five senses and this takes up most of your time. The invisible realms do not exist for you unless you make a point of embracing the belief that they are real and vibrant and offer limitless invitation to reach out and receive the wonders that are offered. Nothing is asked of you in return. You are surrounded by a force so great in its intelligence and so abundant in its love that even the most dull-witted of humans can’t ignore it. The more you allow your awareness to experience a sense of connection to it, the greater its blessings will be.
Everything has a rate of vibration, even inanimate objects. Thought and emotion have strong vibrations and automatically emit signals which others respond to without knowing they are doing so. Fear, anger and other conflicting thoughts and feelings have a denser vibration which close in on you, while feelings of peace and joy have powerful vibrations which expand and lift you. Love has the highest vibration and compassion is an expression of love, which is why it is so desirable to bring compassion to yourself and others at times of difficulty. Compassion neutralizes the hold of negative and painful thinking which allows the heart to open and a sense of trust and surrender to pervade.
The mind only knows what it has been trained to know and ego is part of mind. Human training over millenia has taught you to believe what your mind tells you and act upon those beliefs. The mind itself knows nothing of Source although it may offer up a lot of opinions and fancy ideas. The Self knows the Source because it is part of Source and can never be apart from It. The watcher/observer is the Self and can never not be. Wherever there is love there is life, and even those you love who are no longer present with you, are alive, conscious and vital in
their Beingness. Hold their love in your awareness as they hold yours in their own. No one can ever be separated from Love, whether it is the love of another or of Source itself.
